Week 1 9/5 - 9/8
Tuesday: Students will do a variety of tasks to become familiar with John Adams. 

1st Hour: Students will assemble in the auditorium to meet the teachers and staff.

2nd Hour: Students will become familiar with and put their schedule in their planner.

3rd Hour: Students will be escorted to the lunchroom where they will learn about the expectations of the lunchroom.

4th Hour: Students will take a tour of the school with their 4th period teacher.

5th Hour: Students will learn the expectations of and how to fill out their planner.

6th Hour: Students will watch the minions classroom rules and do getting to know you activities.

7th Hour: Students will participate in a "People Hunt" activity to meet new friends and build relationships.

8th Hour: Meet with your Power Hour teacher.

Wednesday: Students will help make the expectations of the classroom. We will talk about the basic expectations and then students will each fill out a post-it note with an expectation of their own and post it on the board. These expectations will be constructively formed into a Wordle. The student information form and syllabus will be handed out and discussed. Students should return the forms as soon as possible or no later than September 13th. We will do a team building activity to get to know each other.

Thursday: We will do a "Math and Me Reflection" where students will write their strengths, areas for growth, and if they are interested in being a tutor, getting extra help, or joining a more challenging math group. Students will receive their IXL username and password and practice logging in. The remainder of the time will be spent doing a getting to know you activity.

Friday: We will talk about communication and how important it is in being successful. Students will then form teams and complete the "Marshmallow Challenge."
