Seventh Grade Standards


The I can statements below are a list of standards (skills) that each 7th grader is expected to know before he/she enters 8th grade.  A standard can be practiced and mastered any time through out the year.

Unit 1 – Review

YES I can!

I CAN: round to the nearest tenth and hundredth.

 

I CAN: multiply & divide fractions.

 

I CAN: add & subtract fractions.

 

I CAN: graph points on a coordinate plane.

 

I CAN: convert units of measure.

 

 

Unit 2 – Integers

I CAN: find the absolute value of an expression.

 

I CAN: add two integers.

 

I CAN: add more than two integers.

 

I CAN: subtract integers.

 

I CAN: evaluate expressions containing variables.

 

I CAN: multiply integers.

 

I CAN: simplify algebraic expressions.

 

I CAN: divide integers.

 

 

Unit 3 – Expressions

I CAN: use the order of operations to evaluate expressions.

 

I CAN: translate verbal phrases into numerical expressions.

 

I CAN: evaluate expressions containing variables.

 

I CAN: evaluate expressions containing exponents.

 

I CAN: translate verbal phrases into algebraic expressions.

Unit 10 – 8th Grade Prep
