6th Grade Chorus
Welcome to the Sixth Grade Chorus Webpage!

December 2017
We will work on blending voices within our sections and whole group.
- We will continue to work on solfege songs for warm ups.
- We will finish memorize all the Winter Concert 
songs by December 15.
- We will begin singing on the stage on January 16.
- We will finishing putting the last of the Semester 1 music vocabulary into our notebook on a weekly basis. 
- Semester 1 music vocabulary assessment will be on December 21 (B day) and December 22 (A day).
- We will begin answering music related questions in our notebook on a bi-weekly basis again in February following the Winter Concert.
- Winter Concert solo and small groups will be working with Mr. Deiss during class in December and January as we prepare for the Winter Concert.
- The January Solfege Recording assignment will be due Tuesday, January 23. Students will need to access their class section's Google Classroom to upload their video recording. Detailed information can be found on Skyward and Google Classroom.
- Quarter 2 ends on Thursday, January 25. Check Skyward in regards to missing assignments.

Choir Folder Colors
Hour 1A: Blue (with name and choir on it)
Hour 2A: Green (with name and choir on it)
Hour 1B: Red (with name and choir on it)
Hour 3B: Orange (with name and choir on it)

- Write a check made out to John Adams c/o John Adams Choir Program OR send cash with your contact information. Please ensure the check or money is sealed in an envelope. Donations are tax deductible. Mr. Deiss will email or mail out a tax dedication form after the donation has been received and processed. 

Donation Goal is $600.00. $335.00 worth of donations have been received so far this year! Thank you for your generosity and support!

Students are responsible for bringing a pencil and notebook with them every day. Students will occasionally take notes, do journal entries, and other assigned work. Any assignment will be collected and graded.

Concert Arrival Times
Sixth Grade should arrive at 6:20 in Orchestra Room
Seventh Grade should arrive at 6:30 in Band Room
Eighth Grade should arrive at 6:40 in Choir Room

2016-2017 Concert Information
Winter Concert is on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Spring Concert is on Thursday, May 31, 2018.

Missed the January 23, 2018 Winter Concert?

Make ups will be from 2:40-3:40 in the choir room on Wednesday, January 24 and Thursday, January 25. You must be present the entire time for it to count. Mr. Deiss need to know ahead of time that you are coming so that he can add you to the approved after school student list. 

Performance Attire: 

Gentlemen are to wear dress pants with collared dress shirt and dress shoes. Gentlemen may choose to wear a tie.

Ladies are to wear either dress, skirt, or dress pants with matching top and dress shoes. No leggings on their own. Dress and skirt length should be knee or below.
No jeans, t-shirt, and flip flops.
No large logo on any clothing.

There is no set color requirement. Remember that we are a performance group, please refrain from wearing distracting attire. ALL clothing MUST meet the district’s dress code. The dress code is located on page 4 of the Right, Rules, and Regulations document.

Classroom Expectations: Come Prepared, Show Respect, Actively Contribute, Be a Good Listener, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
