Salvation Army

Food shelf:
The Salvation Army in partnership with Channel One Food Bank operates a Supplemental Food Shelf to assist families and individuals in the downtown area with their food needs. The Salvation Army Food Shelf is open Tuesday's and Friday's from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located at 120 NE 1st St and is directly behind The Salvation Army Main office building. Clients may use the food shelf once per month by filling out a registration form.

Soup and sandwich program:

The Soup and Sandwich program is a free noon meal that is served at the Salvation Army Main Building, Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. All meals are nutritionally balanced and range from soup & sandwich to hot meals. There are no income or eligibility guidelines to participate.

Channel One

The Channel One Food Shelf provides a five day supply of food each month to people who live in Olmsted County and are eligible for the program. Household shoppers choose what they most want from non-perishable items in a store like setting.

Fresh produce, dairy and bakery items are also available, as are personal care items. Arrangements for home delivery to disabled or homebound people are possible. Local senior housing complexes have scheduled delivery days for their convenience.

Channel One also operates several satellite food shelves throughout Olmsted County. Satellite food shelves serve people in Byron, Stewartville, Northwest Rochester, and downtown through a partnership with The Salvation Army.
